Enjoy breathtaking landscapes, mountain views, picturesque lochs and bustling cities in Train Simulator Classic with Scottish routes.
In 1812 the Kilmarnock and Troon railway opened in Ayrshire, Scotland. A horse-drawn wagonway this was the first line built in the country, initially designed for transporting coal from the mines near Kilmarnock to the harbor at Troon. Later in 1817 this would also be the first line to get steam power with 'The Duke'.
The success of initial lines like this paved the way for network expansion across Scotland. From the first passenger line in 1831 to the expansive modern network today, Scottish railways form a vital commponent of the country's transportation network. Owned by Network Rail with operation by ScotRail this covers 1,700 miles of track which sees 2,500 passenger services every day.
You can explore many parts of this network through historic steam and diesel to modern day electric in Train Simulator Classic. Discover Scotland!
