Intercity High Speed – Hamburg - Hanover

Released in 2013 this classic route is the perfect place to start your high-speed services. The 153km route is a recreation of one of the most important lines in Lower Saxony. The route includes the DB Class 101, DBAG Class 294 and of course the DB ICE 2 which can run up to 250 km/h on the line. You can also expand on this with the more recent DB BR 605 ICE TD (pictured) and the DB BR 411 'ICE-T'. Regional & Express – Bahnstrecke Riesa - Dresden

There are many regional and express lines around Germany serving millions of commuters each day, and you can recreate these important services in Train Simulator. Bahnstrecke Riesa – Dresden is a great place to start, featuring a mix of Regional, Express and S-Bahn services. The route also includes both fast/slow lines that makes for a good mix of services with the many locos included. Local Commuter – U-Bahn Hamburg U1

S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines serve commuters and tourists looking to explore the urban and suburban areas of major cities. There are some great options to choose from in Train Simulator, including the recently released U-Bahn Hamburg U1: Norderstedt Mitte - Ohlstedt & Großhansdorf. Mixed & Freight – The Rhine Railway: Mannheim - Karlsruhe

Most German routes in Train Simulator include a mix of freight alongside other services. However, if you’re looking for maximum variety look no further than The Rhine Railway. This bustling route features passenger, regional express, high-speed and freight services. For freight duties you can look forward to exploring Mannheim Rangierbahnhof, one of Europe’s largest freight marshalling yards. As you’d expect the rolling stock offering with this route is equally varied with DB BR 406 ICE 3M, DB BR 189, DB BR 425 and DB BR 294 included. Historic – Wutachtalbahn: Lauchringen – Immendingen

The Wutach Valley Railway is perhaps the most unique and splendid in all of Germany. Packed with higher and lower speed running, stunning scenery and spectacular viaducts. Climb aboard the footplate of the DB BR 86 steam locomotive and experience a slice of German steam-era history on this famous preserved railway.
